Help shape Military OS: join the conversation on Discord

A national office and a volunteer-run Chapter can describe the same task very differently. Software needs to account for both.

I have opened a Military OS community on Discord so association staff, officers and volunteers can help shape the platform around the work they actually do. Discord is a place to chat online; you can join through your browser or the Discord app.

Start with the job, rather than a feature request

For example, a Chapter Secretary may prepare a news article that needs national approval. The useful questions are who checks it, what happens if they are away, and how the Secretary knows whether it has been published. A request for an approval button only describes one small part of that job.

That is the kind of conversation I want to have while building Military OS. Membership renewals, officer handovers, events, awards and Chapter administration all involve decisions that are easy to miss when you only look at a screen.

What to bring to the conversation

• A task you handle regularly, and who else is involved.
• Where you rely on spreadsheets, email or reminders to keep it moving.
• What goes wrong, how often it happens and what a better outcome would look like.

You do not need a technical proposal. A short example from your association is a useful starting point, whether you are evaluating Military OS or simply want to contribute.

This is a feedback community, not a replacement for your association's private records or an agreed customer support route. Please use fictional examples and keep member details, passwords and confidential documents out of the conversation.

Military OS is still being developed. Feedback will inform priorities; joining the community does not mean every suggestion will be built or given a delivery date.
