Keeping chapter officer positions up to date
Staff can record who holds each chapter position, when the assignment starts and ends, and which positions require attention.
Choosing the required positions
Military OS includes five chapter positions: president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, and membership chair. A super administrator can change the name shown for each position and choose which positions each chapter must fill.
Changing a position's displayed name does not change what that position can do in Military OS. Clients cannot create new positions with additional system access.
What each status means
Each assignment records the officer, start date, and end date. The client can ask for a warning 30, 60, or 90 days before an assignment ends.
- Ready: every required position is filled and none of those assignments ends during the warning period.
- Due soon: a required assignment ends during the warning period, but no position needs immediate action.
- Action required: a required position is empty, has not started, has ended, or is assigned to an inactive person.
Recording an officer assignment
Staff choose the officer and record the assignment's start and end dates on the chapter page. The end date cannot be before the start date.
When the end date passes, that assignment no longer gives the person current access for the position.
Operational notices
An administrator can send a plain-text notice to selected chapters and officer positions. Recipients must be active people with current or soon-ending assignments. A person who holds more than one selected position receives one message.
Military OS records the notice, the selected recipients, and whether each delivery was sent or failed. This information is included in the client's data export. Sending remains unavailable until email is configured for the client installation.
