In-app notifications for award reviews and certificates

Notifications at four award steps

• Chapter submission or resubmission notifies the current eligible chapter awards officer.
• Forwarding a nomination notifies the eligible chapter president that endorsement is required.
• A request for corrections notifies the person who submitted the nomination.
• Issuing an award certificate notifies the recipient.

Missing, expired or conflicting officer assignments leave the nomination waiting in the review queue. They do not send a notification to an ineligible reviewer. Final association decisions remain in the existing awards administration queue.

A private inbox with read controls

Signed-in members and staff open the header bell to see their notifications. The bell displays an unread count. Opening a notice marks it read and takes the user to the relevant review or certificate. Users can also mark one notice or all notices read, and browse older entries.

Chapter correction notices open the chapter review request. For nominations submitted directly to the association, the notice opens Awards and asks the submitter to contact the awards team.

Available without email setup

The inbox works without an email delivery service. Notifications remain available when users return to the application; the unread count refreshes on navigation or reload. This feature does not send email or browser push alerts.

Each notice is saved with its award change. If the change fails, no notice is created. Repeating the same event does not create a duplicate notification for the same recipient.

Users can only read and mark their own notices. Notifications display the award name and required action, without copying nomination evidence or private review notes. Opening a notice still requires the user's current permission to access the destination.

Notifications cover new award activity. Earlier award activity and later officer assignments do not create historical notices; the review queue remains the place to check outstanding work.
