Public site themes and saved appearance settings

Super admins can choose from six public site visual families, set a brand colour, preview light and dark appearances, and save named themes.

Six visual families

The Theme page offers Association, Command, Regimental, Heritage, Editorial, and Contemporary. Each family sets the public site's spacing, corners, panel depth, content width, header, background, and heading treatment.

Association uses rounded panels and balanced spacing. Command uses compact corners and a wider layout. Regimental uses square details and a formal heading treatment. Heritage uses narrower content and ceremonial details. Editorial reduces decoration around reading content. Contemporary uses open spacing and larger rounded surfaces.

The same content in three families

These local product captures hold the association name, homepage content, green brand colour, serif headings, light appearance, Overview composition and immersive hero constant. Only the visual family changes.

Association: left-aligned hero text, rounded buttons and a full-width header.
Regimental: centred hero text, square buttons and uppercase navigation labels.
Contemporary: a rounded header, rounded hero frame and pill-shaped buttons.

Mobile presentation

The Regimental family uses the same saved content at a mobile width. The header provides a menu and the homepage sections stack vertically.

Regimental at a 390-pixel viewport width.

Brand colour, headings, and dark mode

A super admin selects one brand colour. Military OS generates a complementary accent and the light and dark colours for text, surfaces, borders, and actions. Required text colour pairs are checked against a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 before a theme is saved.

Heading choices use sans-serif or serif type. Dark mode can follow the visitor's system preference or be disabled so the public site stays in its light appearance.

The theme controls show Regimental selected for preview. Selecting a family does not apply it until the theme is saved.

Preview before applying

The editor previews the selected theme with the association's saved identity and homepage hero. Supporting panels are examples and preview actions are inactive. An expanded preview and light and dark preview controls are available before saving.

A named theme library

Save and use theme stores the theme under a name and applies it to the public site. Previously saved themes remain in the library and can be applied again.

Saved identity and logo uploads

Identity and Theme share a Saved public branding summary. It reports the applied association identity, logo status, theme family, heading style, appearance policy, homepage composition and hero layout. Unsaved form edits and theme previews do not change the summary.

The summary still reports the saved Heritage theme while Regimental is selected in the editor above.

Super admins can select and preview a logo file on Identity, then apply it with Save identity. PNG, JPEG, GIF and WebP files up to 5 MB are accepted. A failed upload leaves the saved identity unchanged. Logo image URL entry remains available.

Public appearance and administration

The theme changes the public association site. The admin workspace retains its platform appearance. Individual interface-colour editing and custom CSS are not provided.

Homepage content and its Overview or News-led composition are managed separately from the theme.
